Production process

IAC works with castings from initial proposal to finished product. We work close with our customers to develop prototypes, and then move on to series production.
We have a high degree of processing through machining, surface treatment and assembly.

Melting

To ensure the highest possible quality in our products, we use a carefully controlled purification process. By treating the melt with Nitral C19 tablets, impurities are effectively removed — they rise to the surface and can be skimmed off before the casting process begins.

This method helps keep our furnaces in optimal condition and ensures a consistent and clean aluminum melt. The result is products of higher quality and fewer defects — just as our customers expect.

High pressure die-casting

IAC has a flexible production facility for high-pressure die casting.
Our machinery includes die casting machines with clamping forces ranging from 200 to 2 750 tons and casting weights from 0.01 to 20 kilograms. The total melting capacity exceeds 8 500 kilograms per hour, allowing us to handle both large production volumes and complex components with high precision.

For further processing, we offer CNC machining, enabling us to deliver fully machined components directly to the customer. We also provide surface treatment services — powder coating is carried out both in-house and in collaboration with carefully selected subcontractors.

The result is an efficient end-to-end solution — from melting to finished component — with a strong focus on quality, precision, and customer needs.

Gravity die casting

IAC also performs permanent mold casting at our foundry in Estonia. The casting weights vary in size, allowing for flexible production adapted to different components.

After casting, heat treatment is carried out with a capacity of several thousand kilograms per hour, ensuring that the materials achieve the desired mechanical properties.

For subsequent machining, CNC technology is used, providing high precision and efficiency in production. IAC also has its own core manufacturing. The cores can be produced in various sizes, allowing adaptation to a wide range of casting products.

Heat treatment

To ensure that our products achieve the right strength and durability, parts of our aluminum castings undergo heat treatment. The process is used to enhance the material’s mechanical properties – for example, making it stronger, more dimensionally stable, and resistant to stress.

The method we primarily use is called T6 heat treatment, a well-established standard in the aluminum industry. It involves heating the casting, cooling it down, and then reheating it under controlled conditions. This gives the material its optimal structure and performance.

The result is high-quality aluminum components with long service life and reliable properties – something highly valued by our customers in the automotive and engineering industries.

Machining

After casting, and when applicable heat treatment, we offer advanced machining of castings fully in accordance with the customer’s specifications and requirements.

Our machine park includes a large number of multi-operation machines – horizontal, vertical, and 5-axis – as well as CNC-controlled lathes. This capacity enables us to deliver high precision, flexibility, and quality at every stage of the machining process.

Assembly

We offer assembly of cast components based on the customer’s needs – from individual parts to finished products. Our assembly process is flexible and designed to ensure high quality, precision, and efficiency at every stage.

Powder coating

Our powder coating process takes place in our own facility, located in Hultsfred. Here, we are able to ensure consistently high quality throughout the entire process – from pre-treatment to the finished surface. The pre-treatment is specially optimized for aluminum materials.

The powder is applied automatically with high precision, followed by a controlled curing process. Through continuous monitoring at every stage, we can guarantee that the result meets both our own and the customer’s requirements.
