It is with a heavy heart that we need to announce that, as of today, 6 October 2026, we are planning to phase out the production unit at IAC Ankarsrum AB. The operations currently carried out at the production facility are planned to be transferred to other facilities within the Group. Under the current plan, the transfer will take place in stages and is expected to be fully completed by 30 June 2027.
Ankarsrum is a traditional Swedish industrial community in Västervik Municipality, a place that many associate with quality and with Swedish industrial history. The property in which IAC Ankarsrum has operated is no exception. However, given the conditions associated with the property, it is currently assessed as unable to provide the conditions required for continued production.
In order to enable more consolidated and sustainable long-term growth for the Group, we therefore plan to transfer the operations to other production facilities within the Group. The planned change is part of IAC Sweden’s continued long-term efforts to streamline operations, optimize resource utilization and strengthen the Group’s competitiveness.
The planned transition means that production, responsibilities and related parts of the operations will gradually be taken over by other production facilities within the Group. The work is planned to be carried out in stages according to a carefully developed plan, in order to provide our existing customers with as smooth a transition as possible, with the aim of ensuring continued high quality, reliable deliveries and the highest level of service, without interruptions to ongoing production processes.
The planned change will now be subject to negotiations with the relevant trade unions. The company will maintain a close and open dialogue with the relevant trade unions throughout the process.
We are fully aware that the planned change to the operations in Ankarsrum affects many people, both employees at the facility and people and businesses in the local community. We take this very seriously. We want to be clear that no one will be left without support during this period, and we will work in a structured manner to support each individual employee in the best possible way throughout the process.
